WinCE does not contain AAC support out of the box, but some
OEMs add it (at least on Windows Mobile 5/6). Unless you
have an x86-based WinCE system (which rules out Windows
Mobile), you can not use Win32 binaries on it. Even if it is
x86-based, you will probably need to at least rebuild the
filters for WinCE, since there are some differences.

the moment I'm dveloping with C# in VS. For the sound I'm using DirectShow.Net. My free time is very limited. . . Well, after spending too many hours on reading and puzzling around I tell you how easy it would be to patch in. Is it DirectSound.NET or DirectShow.NET or something else? - - http: / / www.chrisnet.net / code.htm [MS MVP for DirectShow / MediaFoundation] I do not see the part where you address the channel for the stereo device? - - http: / / www.chrisnet.net / code.htm [MS MVP for DirectShow / MediaFoundation] Okay, so you are doing stereo out, not mono right? You have 6 M plus 1 more for the on-board sound. Given that you have access to the DirectShow graph building process I think we can make something work. I will make you a up a prototype on the weekend. - - http: / / www.chrisnet.net / code.htm [MS MVP for DirectShow / MediaFoundation] Hi Chris! You are great! That's right. C++ / VB Is DirectX and DirectShow the Same Thing? Is DirectX and DirectShow the Same Thing (in regard to audio only)? If not, how does DirectX relate to DirectShow? I am trying to learn how to write an audio play / record application. I see nice introduction to DirectShow in the Microsoft Platform SDK. But then I see that there is DirectX SDK that record application. Which one should I learn? Thanks, Alex DirectX is a group of technologies. DirectShow is part of that group. The DirectX SDK no longer contains DirectShow. DirectShow. See my site through the link below for more info and links to most dshow everything) 3. thanks message . . . Anyway, part of the problem is the help system comes up with the WinCE stuff by default first which doesn't have that extra text. It's kinda annoying. Be nice if I could just filter out WinCE docs until I need them. Hi David, Sorry for the late response. Due to internal not sure I understand you completely. Do you mean that your question apply to the WinCE platform instead Win32? WinCE is quite different from Win32, so can you provide more details of your question? Thanks to set a preference that all you are interested in is Win32 / COM development (vs. WinCE or .NET or Visual Foxpro or something else) and to have it limit search results look the same, but #1 is Win32 / COM, #2 is Windows Mobile 6, #3 is WinCE 5.0, #4 is WinCE .NET 4.2, and #5 is WinCE 3.0.
